Mobile App Terms of Use

These terms apply to mobile and Mac apps published by JS INSIGHTS LTD. By downloading or using an app, you also agree to the applicable App Store terms and Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

Free app access

HanziLens and HanziQuest are free to download and use. All core learning and lookup features remain available without purchase. Advertising may be displayed where permitted and as described in the Mobile App Privacy Policy.

Optional Remove Ads Forever purchase

HanziLens and HanziQuest each offer an optional Remove Ads Forever purchase. This is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase. It is not a subscription, does not renew and does not introduce a recurring charge. The purchase removes advertising only; it is not required to use the apps' core features.

The UK target price is £2.99 for each app. The final price and currency shown on the App Store purchase confirmation screen apply and may vary by country or region.

Payment and restoration

Apple processes the payment and provides the verified entitlement to the app. JS Insights does not receive or store payment-card details. A valid purchase can be restored on compatible devices using the same Apple Account through the app's Restore Purchases control.

Payment processing, Family Sharing availability, cancellations and refund requests are handled under the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and Apple's refund process. Family Sharing is available only where Apple and the relevant product configuration support it.

Advertising

Free use may be supported by Google AdMob advertising where permitted. Once a valid Remove Ads Forever entitlement is active, the relevant app stops requesting and displaying ads. Advertising data processed before purchase remains subject to the Mobile App Privacy Policy and Google's applicable retention policies.

Licence and acceptable use

JS Insights grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app and its content for personal learning and reference. You may not copy, scrape, extract, redistribute, sell, sublicense or republish substantial parts of an app or its content except where permitted by law.

Availability and updates

We may update, correct, change or discontinue an app or feature. We take reasonable care with our products but do not promise that every item will always be complete, error-free or available on every device or operating-system version.

Liability and governing law

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law. Subject to that, JS Insights is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of an app. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of its courts.
