Mobile App Terms of Use

These terms apply to JS Insights apps published by JS INSIGHTS LTD for Apple devices, Android devices and Windows PCs. The terms of the store from which you obtained an app also apply, including Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement for App Store downloads. A platform-specific feature applies only to the app version you have installed.

Free app access

HanziLens and HanziQuest are free to download and use, with core learning and lookup features available without purchase. Our CFA Level I, Sustainable Prep and Life UK Prep apps also provide free study material, with optional one-time purchases for specified practice, audio or advertising-removal features. The available products and prices depend on the app, platform and store. Advertising may be displayed where permitted and as described in the App Privacy Policy.

Optional Remove Ads Forever purchase

HanziLens and HanziQuest each offer an optional Remove Ads Forever purchase. This is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase. It is not a subscription, does not renew and does not introduce a recurring charge. The purchase removes advertising only; it is not required to use the apps' core features.

On the App Store in the UK, the optional one-time HanziLens or HanziQuest ad-removal purchase costs £2.99 per app. Android products are separate Google Play purchases. The final price and currency shown by the relevant store at checkout apply; a purchase on one platform does not unlock the equivalent product on another.

Payment and restoration

Apple, Google Play or Microsoft processes payment and provides purchase status for apps obtained through its store. JS Insights does not receive or store payment-card details. An eligible purchase can be restored through the same store account on compatible devices, subject to that store's rules.

Payment processing, eligible sharing, cancellations and refunds are governed by the applicable store's terms and processes. An audio-pack purchase does not remove advertising unless the store product expressly says so.

Advertising

Some free Apple and Android editions may be supported by Google AdMob where permitted. An active ad-removal or complete-practice entitlement stops advertising requests in that app; it does not remove advertising in another app or platform. Windows editions do not show AdMob ads. Advertising data processed before purchase remains subject to the App Privacy Policy and Google's applicable retention policies.

Licence and acceptable use

JS Insights grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app and its content for personal learning and reference. You may not copy, scrape, extract, redistribute, sell, sublicense or republish substantial parts of an app or its content except where permitted by law.

Availability and updates

We may update, correct, change or discontinue an app or feature. We take reasonable care with our products but do not promise that every item will always be complete, error-free or available on every device or operating-system version.

Liability and governing law

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law. Subject to that, JS Insights is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of an app. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of its courts.
