This app-specific notice should be read together with the JS Insights Mobile App Privacy Policy, which gives fuller information about Google advertising, privacy choices, retention and your rights.

The short version

JS Insights does not receive, sell or use your local study data for advertising. Your progress, answers, favourites, wrong-answer notebook, study plan, display settings and optional target exam date stay on your device.

Version 1.1 and later may use Google AdMob to show low-distraction banner advertising. Google and its advertising partners may process limited device, advertising, interaction and diagnostic data to provide, measure and protect advertising services.

If you contact JS Insights by email or open external websites from the app, those interactions are outside the local-only app environment and may involve personal data.

What the app stores locally

  • reading progress and completed sections;
  • practice and mock-test answers and scores;
  • wrong answers and favourites;
  • selected study language;
  • optional target exam date;
  • text-size, appearance and other display preferences.

This app data does not leave your device and is not visible to JS Insights. Deleting the app deletes this local app data. If you use device backups such as iCloud Backup, Apple may include app data in your device backup under Apple's terms and your device settings.

What JS Insights does not collect from study use

  • No account, sign-up or login.
  • No transmission of your study data to JS Insights.
  • No separate analytics, account or cloud-sync service.
  • No request for precise location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
  • The current app does not request Apple's permission to track activity across other companies' apps and websites.
  • The study content is bundled inside the app and works offline after installation.

Advertising and privacy choices

Advertising-enabled versions use Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) and Google's User Messaging Platform. Depending on your region, device settings and consent choices, Google and its partners may process an IP address and approximate location inferred from it, device or app identifiers, advertisements shown, ad and app interactions, consent signals, crash logs and performance diagnostics. This information may be used to deliver and measure ads, prevent fraud, comply with legal requirements and improve advertising services.

The app does not send your answers, scores, wrong-answer records, favourites, study plan or optional target exam date to Google. Version 1.1 uses banner ads at selected section boundaries and summary screens, not between individual practice questions.

Where required, the app presents Google's consent message before requesting ads and provides an Ad Privacy Choices control in the More area. See Google's Privacy Policy for Google's processing.

Support emails, feedback and corrections

If you email contact@jsinsights.co.uk, we will receive the personal data you choose to send, such as your email address, name, message content, screenshots, attachments, device/app details or other information included in the email.

We use support emails to answer your message, investigate possible errors, improve the app and keep reasonable records of support and correction requests. Please do not send sensitive immigration case details unless necessary. The app is not a legal or immigration advice service.

You may contact contact@jsinsights.co.uk to ask about access, correction or deletion of personal data contained in your support emails, subject to legal and administrative record-keeping requirements.

External links

The Resources, About and Legal screens may contain links that open in your browser, including jsinsights.co.uk and GOV.UK. Once you leave the app, the privacy policies of those websites apply. The app does not send them your study progress, answers or local app settings.

AI-assisted content and explanations

Some translations and study explanations bundled in the app may have been prepared with AI assistance and reviewed as learning material. In this V1 version, the Explain this question feature uses bundled question data and does not send your question activity to JS Insights.

If a future version adds online AI explanation, cloud sync, accounts, separate analytics, subscriptions or other online services, this policy and the App Store privacy label will be updated before release.

Children

The app is designed as a general-audience study tool for people preparing for the Life in the UK Test. It is not directed at children.

Changes

We may update this policy when the app changes. The latest version will be published on the JS Insights website.
