Recorded explanations
Every slide has a recorded explanation. On iPhone, iPad and Mac, course materials and bundled recordings are available offline after installation. On Android, recordings are downloaded by module in the app (about 672 MB in total) and then play offline.
Formulas and worked calculations
Key measures such as weighted-average carbon intensity are taught with the formula and a worked example.
Notes and study planning
Keep notes beside the slides and set an exam date to turn the syllabus into a daily plan.

Installing
- Mac: if your browser has not already unzipped the download, double-click the
.zipfile. Drag Sustainable Prep Website Edition into Applications and open it from there. - Windows: choose x64 for Intel or AMD PCs, or ARM64 for Windows 11 on Arm. Extract the whole ZIP to a folder, then open
SustainablePrepWebsite.exein that folder. The app runs from that folder, so keep its other files beside it. - Android: open the downloaded
.apkfile. If asked, allow your browser or Files app to install unknown apps, then tap Install. The app appears as Sustainable Prep Website. In some countries, Google’s developer verification rules for apps installed outside Google Play may stop the installation; if that happens, use the Google Play edition. - iPhone and iPad: use the App Store edition.
Updating
- Mac: download the new version from this page and replace the app in Applications with it.
- Windows: download and extract the new ZIP, open the app from the new folder, then delete the old folder.
- Android: download the new
.apkfrom this page and install it over the previous Website Edition.
An update keeps your notes and progress: on Mac and Windows they are stored apart from the app itself, and on Android installing over the previous version keeps them.
Adverts
The Website Edition is free because it carries adverts. On Android, Google AdMob adverts appear on the Home and Practice screens, with an occasional full-screen advert after a finished practice session. Where your consent is required (for example in the UK, the EEA and Switzerland), no advert is requested until you have made your privacy choice; elsewhere adverts can appear straight away. Adverts are not placed on the slide and recording screens, the notes screens or in a mock.
When no Google advert is shown, the space shows a labelled JS Insights promotion instead. On Mac and Windows, a clearly labelled space promotes JS Insights courses and apps; it uses no advertising network and does not track you.
Your data and other editions
Notes and progress stay on your device, separate from the store editions.
On Windows you can save your notes and progress to a backup file and restore it on this or another PC. Mac and Android offer PDF export for reading, not restoring notes.
No account, cloud sync or in-app purchases. Store purchases do not unlock this edition.
